Procom has begun upgrading it’s TV Network to include High Definition channels due to popular demand. Currently we offer ABC and CBS in High Definition. We will be adding NBC and FOX in January 2007. By the end of 2007 we expect to have 8 to 10 High Definition channels. In order to receive these channels you must first purchase a DVR receiver which also gives you the ability to perform “Tivo-like” functions such as recording one channel while watching another. Currently the additional charges for a DVR receiver are $350.00 installation and $15.00 per month for the HD channels. We expect the receiver charge to decrease over the next 12 to 18 months.

Direct TV’s digital package includes 155 channels for $44.95 per month. To add High Definition there is an additional $10.05 which gets you 12 HD channels. You can get movie channels at $12.00 each ie: 4 channels of HBO for $12.00, 5 channels of Showtime for $12.00, 12 channels of Starz plus 2 HD Starz for $12.00 per month. Total deluxe package $91.90. There is also an install charge for HD at $285.00. They also charge $100.00 for each additional HD receiver if you want it in every room plus $5.00 per month for each additional receiver. A person that has 3 HD receivers, 155 channels with 12 being HD and only the Starz movie channels, with no HBO or Showtime, would pay $80.00 per month.

Comcast has no HD channels available in Deep Creek. Their digital service is $39.00 per month with 100 channels for the first 6 months, then it goes up to $51.00 per month. If they ever do offer HD the cost will be $12.00 to $15.00 per month for 8 to 12 channels. They also like Direct TV do not include Movie channels with their digital. Each movie group is $10.00 additional per month. Their package that would be comparable to Procom’s would cost you $81.00 per month.

Procom’s digital package has right at 200 channels. Which includes 4 HBO’s, 3 Cinemax, 5 Showtime, 12 Encore and 6 Starz channels. All for $60.00 per month. We currently have 2 HD channels which are ABC and CBS. We will be adding FOX and NBC next month. By the end of 2007 we will have 8 to 10 HD channels available. We do expect the HD receivers to come down in price next year, but also expect the HD cost to raise a little. Procom has the ability in the Deep Creek area to not only offer you the best pricing with more channels, but also unlike others in the area, everything is provided over a PURE FIBER Network for the best in quality and the ability to add telephone and Internet service on the same bill.
